Cope Company Salt
Green / Sustainable Business
The Cope Company strongly believes that the strengths are found in its experienced and capable workforce, a diversified customer base, excellent name recognition, a meaningful presence in the various markets served, good supplier relationships, and above all else, the ongoing ability and commitment to serve the growing needs and demands of our customers.
Cope Salt contributes at least $2,000 every two months to various non-profit organizations. Our AUTOGive program allows a randomly selected employee every two months to select one of our non-profit customers to receive $3,000. This has allowed employees to contribute to organizations that they have a personal connection, such as a retirement home where their mother was staying. We have allowed all employees to pick a non-profit to give a pallet of ice melt. Employees are active in the community volunteering and supporting many causes. Employees are supported with work related education expense, including one employee currently getting his project management certification. We support the local Chamber (member), manufacturing support organization MANTEC (board member), water quality trade groups (over 5 regional and national) and other service organizations. Our AUTOBrine system is a patented system that significantly reduces our customer's carbon footprint. It also eliminates injuries related to lifting and cutting open bagged salt for water softeners. We provide all of our customers a customized annual Green Certificate documenting how many pounds of CO2 their company has saved due to using our system. Our system provides customers the ability to draw brine to use for ice melt pre-treating. Applying brine before a snow event reduces the amount of deicing salt needed and helps avoids falls on ice. We remain committed to supporting each employee's passion, meeting community needs and improving the environment.
