Who is eligible to apply to the Dream Big Awards Program?
The Dream Big Awards program is open to small businesses with 2015 and 2016 annual revenues of less than $20 million per year and having less than 250 employees at time of entry. Individuals who are owners or co-owners of a small business or hold a majority interest in an eligible small business may apply. Such individuals must be of the age of majority in the state where they reside as of the closing date of the Contest and legal residents of a state or the District of Columbia in the United States of America. Employees (and their immediate family members and members of the same household) of the Sponsor or Administrator and their affiliates, agents, advertising or promotion agencies are not eligible to participate in this Contest. Also, pursuant to Congressional and Executive Branch ethics rules, Members of Congress, Congressional staff members, Executive Branch officials and their staff members are not eligible to participate in this Contest. All winners in this Contest must meet these and other eligibility requirements to be considered for any award prize.

All online entries must be received by 11:59 P.M. Eastern Standard Time on Friday, May 5, 2017.

I started my business in 2016, so I have no revenue to report for 2015. Should I still apply?
Yes! You should still apply. Be sure to address this issue in your application and describe your business plan for the coming year by outlining your strategies for growth.
My sales decreased from 2015 to 2016. Will my application still be considered? Should I still apply?
Yes! You should still apply. In your application, be sure to address the sales figures you reported and outline your business plan or strategies for growth in 2017 and beyond.
How can I strengthen my application?
A strong application will draw a clear and concise picture of how the business was started, what makes it unique, and how it has overcome challenges. Make sure your completed application clearly describes your business’ relationship with its community, customers, and employees. Submitting additional material such as your business plan can strengthen your application and help us get to know your business, but they are not required.
May I submit additional material to support my application?
Yes, you may submit additional materials to support your application. Previous submissions have included copies of paid or earned media, photos of your employees, media features, and examples of community engagement. To ensure they are reviewed with your application, supporting materials must be uploaded to your online form.
What is due in addition to my application form?
In addition to your application, your application fee and statements of revenue for 2015 and 2016 must be submitted online by May 26, 2017.
How can I save my answers so that I can work on my application later?
After creating a user profile and before submitting your final application, answers will be saved automatically so you can revisit or edit any previous responses.
How much is the application fee?
The application fee is $25 for non-members of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. There is no application fee required of U.S. Chamber members. The required application fee may be paid by the nominator or the applicant. Members will be required to provide an active U.S. Chamber of Commerce membership number as part of their application.
What is accepted as a statement of revenue?
We will accept a letter stating your company’s sales in 2015 and 2016 signed by both your president/CEO and your accountant OR a copy of the first page of your company's tax return (such as an 1120 form). Do NOT submit your company’s entire tax return. The information is required to verify that gross revenue is less than $20 million per year.
